A warm hello to you!

Welcome! This blog is my attempt to digitize my poetry collection called “Unopened decades”. I wrote these poems in my vagrant undergraduate days. I haven’t written much in the last 7 years.

A trip down my life: I grew up in a vibrant city of teeming millions in Calcutta, India. A curiosity and longing for the larger world gripped me in high school. So, I decided to leave my cozy home and came to America for a different flavor of life. My graduate school work and career in international public health at Yale University further expanded my global horizon.

I enjoy playing a detective doctor in unraveling the mystery of the human, mind, body and spirit involvement in health and disease. I am finally living out this long cherished dream as I study naturopathic medicine at the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, OR.

Life’s simple pleasures thrill me: long leisurely walks, hikes, hot springs, esoteric and not so esoteric books (fact, fiction, poetry), art forms, simple nutritious food, hearty conversations with friends… I unwind through yoga, meditation and socializing. I write and paint when inspiration strikes. Theatre performances, films, museums, art shows and live music are integral distractions in my life. I have dabbled with making amateur documentary films, although I have not actively pursued that in a while.
